WELLSBURG — Brooke High School Principal Timothy Pannett has announced the induction of four individuals into the Brooke High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
They include Anthony Paesano, Paul “Bud” Billiard, Jack Shaffer, and Don Koscevic. This is the 30th-annual Athletic Hall of Fame recognition ceremony.
The purpose of the Brooke High School Athletic Hall of Fame has expanded this year to include leaders on and off the field who promoted outstanding achievement and contribution to the Brooke athletic program, as well as to select and honor Brooke graduates who have distinguished themselves at the intercollegiate level on and off the field of play. The hall of fame serves as a symbol of the excellence, honor, and devotion displayed by these individuals.
The hall of fame recognition ceremony will be held on Friday, during the pre-game ceremonies of the Brooke football game against John Marshall. The day’s activities will begin at 4:30 p.m. with a dinner and induction program in Brooke cafeteria A. Honored guests, presenters, family, friends and the general public are invited.
Tickets for the dinner are available at the Brooke High School main office. The cost is $15 per person. Dinner will be catered by Vito’s 2 of Follansbee.
An on-field ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. Tickets can be obtained by calling the school at (304)-537-1410 or visiting the main office. The inductees will be presented plaques featuring their portraits and records. Each plaque will be added to the Athletic Hall of Fame Wall located in the Brooke High School Wellness Facility. They will also receive a framed certificate of induction, a statuette emblematic of their sport, and a medallion.
